Philosophy:
Bambo Nature Disposable Nappies are just like ordinary disposable nappies, but they have a much lower eco footprint. This was the goal of their Swedish creators. It was not good enough just to create eco nappies, but it also mattered to them that the eco nappies impact over their life cycle was as low as possible. This is where the Noridic Swan Eco Label comes from, it is interested in whole life cycle eco credentials of eco nappies. Only if a product has a measurably low life cycle impact, can it get the award.

History and Origin:
Bambo Nature was established on 1 May 1980. The founders were importing nappies from Denmark to Sweden, but the eco-impact of this and the disposable nappies themselves constantly bothered them. So, the Bambo Nature Disposable Nappies brand was born, with the Nordic Swan Mark at the cornerstone of the eco nappies design and production. The Nordic Swan Eco Label assesses a product’s environmental impact during its entire life cycle, from raw materials and manufacturing, through to the eco nappies use and finally the disposal. In order to reach the standards that have won the Nordic Swan, the manufacturers of Bambo Nature Disposable Nappies have been tested on its, energy and resource consumption, factory emissions into air, water and land, limits on the creation of waste products, the content of environmentally hazardous substances in the product and anything that may be hazardous to humans.

After designing the Bambo Nature nappy, producing and selling it in Sweden, the Bambo Nature Eco Nappies gained such a reputation that in 1987 export began, and they arrived in the UK in the 1990’s. The brand has become one of the most well known and popular in the UK.
