Philosophy:
Based in the Netherlands, Keptin-Jr makes totally natural cotton toys and comforters for babies and small children. The Natur Collection stocked by So Organic is the most natural of them all. Made from 100% Organic Cotton and Pure Wool with no dyes involved, it would be hard to find a purer baby toy. The two tone taupe and cream colours of the range are made possible by using different types of 100% organic cotton. The cotton grows in these colours, so no dyes are needed in the finished product. Babies love to put everything in their mouths, so this lack of dye and the fact that all of the toys in the range are fully washable make them a great choice.

History and Origin:
Keptin Jr toys and comforters complement a baby’s development. The idea of a comforter is that it is worn next to the parent’s skin, and then given to the baby when distressed, as the familiar scent of their Mummy or Daddy helps to calm and soothe them.  All of the toys are based on natural fabrics; un-dyed organic cotton and pure wool, which readily adapt to a warm snugly body temperature (unlike a hard plastic toy) and absorb the parent’s and child’s smell.

Comforters can come in for some rough treatment, babies naturally chew their toys and it’s important that the toy can stand up to the test. Keptin Jr toys are made of durable fabrics, they have no small parts to fall off or breaks and their stitching is reinforced. Children can become very attached to their comforter and may keep it for many years. Keptin Jr designs are simple to help stimulate the child’s creativity; many of them were inspired by children’s drawings. Cozy and Zmooz have no facial expression, so an older child will be able to decide how the toy is feeling!

Why We Chose Them:
Their attention to detail is superb and they want to make sure their toys are up to the job so they have them tested by a panel of children at a day care centre – what better test could there be? We love the fact that they have really thought about the long term with their products and have a policy of keeping the same styles for a long time so that if your child becomes really attached to a favourite Keptin Jr toy which one day is lost or damaged,  you should be able to get a replacement.  Obviously the safest bet is to buy 2 upfront and keep them both in use. 

Who Would Like Them?
Anyone looking for a completely organic comforter or toy, either for their own child or as a gift will love the Keptin Jr range. They are suitable from birth so make an excellent choice for a new born baby gift.

Keptin Jr toys do not have an independent organic certification but all of the Keptin Jr toys stocked by So Organic are made from organic cotton and pure wool, with no dyes.
