Intensely nourishing all over body cream. Even before the addition of the plant extracts and essential oils the base itself is food for dry skin. Hypoallergenic lanolin, Sweet Almond Oil and Sunflower Seed oil are three of the main ingredients of the base. Lanolin, chemically, is almost identical to sebum, the natural oil produced by the skin. It is therefore an ideal substance to 'feed' dry skin. Both Almond and Sunflower Seed oil soften and soothe the skin and also assist in the penetration of other soothing, rejuvenating ingredients. Skin Food can be used as a nourishing day and night cream. It is good for rough, dry skin anywhere on the body; face, hands, elbows, knees etc. It can be used as a protective cream in harsh weather and is excellent for anyone regularly out of doors. Excellent at nourishing, protecting and repairing skin.

I first bought this in Germany years ago and was so thrilled to find it again here. I use it for the cracked dry skin on my eczema prone hands and feet. It's so rich it really helps and the fresh scent is lovely. M x

Ethical Living March/April 2009 - 'A favourite since 1926, this rich cream is great for rough, dry patches and protection against harsh weather.'
A little goes a long way, so apply sparingly. This very rich cream is best applied to the face by gently patting on so as to avoid dragging the skin. Elsewhere on the body gently smooth into the skin until the cream is absorbed. To deeply nourish hard working, dry hands apply liberally, cover with cotton gloves and leave overnight.
