Philosophy:
Dr.Hauschka was founded in 1935 by...Dr. Rudolf Hauschka! His idea and philosophy came from a chance meeting he had with Dr. Rudolf Steiner, the founder of Anthroposophy, or the study of nature, in 1924. Many of the conversations between the two men centred on the question: what is life? From that, Hauschka took up this suggestion and developed manufacturing processes in which he incorporated the rhythms of nature. Even today Dr Hauschka still use these processes to obtain water-based extracts of medicinal herbs which remain stable without the use of alcohol, and to make the herbal essences for Dr.Hauschka Skin Care products which contain all the vitality of the plants.

History and Origin:
In the 1960’s Dr.Hauschka wanted to extend his work into cosmetic and body care products. He teamed up with Elisabeth Sigmund, a cosmetologist, and a new skin care range was developed by a diverse team consisting of pharmacists, chemists, anthroposophical doctors, and cosmetologist Elisabeth Sigmund. In 1967, the Dr.Hauschka Skin Care range was launched.

Elisabeth Sigmund also developed the system of lymphatic stimulation. Still today, Dr.Hauschka believe in protecting the upper layer of the skin, as this is the best form of protection against the elements and pollution in today’s society. So, you will find no facial scrubs in the range! Instead, they believe in a very strong cleanse, tone and moisturise routine, working with the movement of your lymph glands.
